Sermon Scribe
Privacy Policy
Last updated 24 August 2026
Sermon Scribe (“we”, “us”) is a product of Claybird Labs. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who else sees it. You can reach us any time at support@sermon-scribe.com.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address and a securely hashed password. We never see or store your password in readable form.
- The content you create. Sermon topics, scripture references, tone and length settings, any notes you enter, and the sermons generated for you.
- Billing information. Your plan, whether it is active, and the date it runs to. Paid plans are paid by Interac e-Transfer, so no card details are involved at any point — the transfer happens between you and your bank, and what reaches us is the notification that it arrived, together with whatever you put in the message field.
- Basic technical data. IP address, browser type, and request timestamps, kept by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
How your sermon content is processed
This is the part worth reading carefully. When you generate a sermon, the topic, scripture reference and any notes you provide are sent to Anthropic (the makers of Claude) so the sermon can be written. Anthropic processes that text on our behalf in order to return a result.
Do not enter confidential pastoral information, details of private counselling conversations, health information, or anything else told to you in confidence. Sermon Scribe is a drafting tool for material intended to be preached publicly, and it should be used that way.
Who else we share data with
We use a small number of providers, each for one purpose:
- Anthropic — generates sermon text from your prompts.
- Supabase — stores your account and your saved sermons.
- Your bank and the Interac network — carry the e-Transfer itself. We are the recipient, not the processor.
- Cloudflare — serves the website and protects it from abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Payments
Paid plans are priced in Canadian dollars and paid by Interac e-Transfer. The transfer runs through your bank and the Interac network; we do not process it and we never see your banking credentials or any card number. Matching a payment to an account is done by hand, from the address you send the transfer from, the note you attach to it, and the details you give us afterwards.
How long we keep things
Account data and saved sermons are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account we remove them within 30 days, except where we are required to keep billing records for tax and accounting purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Canadian users have these rights under PIPEDA; users in the UK and EU have equivalent rights under the GDPR. Write to support@sermon-scribe.com and we will respond within 30 days.
You can have your account deleted at any time. Email support@sermon-scribe.com from the address on your account and ask us to close it, and we will remove the account and your saved sermons within 30 days, other than the billing records described above. There is no charge and we will not ask you to give a reason.
Children
Sermon Scribe is intended for adults preparing material for ministry. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and for anything significant we will email account holders before it takes effect.
